What it is
AoTTG RC Mod is a fan-made Attack on Titan game first released around 2015 by Community project, built in Unity. It runs on Windows. Setup is the hard part: you will be moving files by hand before anything launches.
How it plays
Multiplayer runs on community-hosted servers, so what you get depends entirely on who is hosting the night you show up. Modes on offer: Titan hunting (PvE), PvP, Custom maps and Sandbox.
The mod scene is the real product: custom maps, custom titans and full rule rewrites. A server browser instead of matchmaking, which is either nostalgic or exhausting depending on your patience.
Easy to run on a LAN or a private server for a closed group. Map variety is the strongest of anything in this list.
What works
- Deeply moddable
- Huge library of custom maps
- Large maps worth exploring
- Free, with nothing gated behind payment
What does not
- Requires a download
- Windows only
- Mod installation is fiddly
- Steep learning curve
- Servers are often empty
- No mobile support
Should you play it?
